You know what matters to you. Do they?
Start the conversation that helps your family understand your wishes.
Your wishes, your values, your way. We can plan it together.
I help individuals and families put their wishes, decisions, and final arrangements in place before a crisis, and I walk beside families through the last days. Guidance from a hospice nurse and trained End of Life Doula, wherever you live.
For the conversations that matter most
Families rarely regretted having the conversation. They regretted waiting until it was too late to have it.
As a hospice nurse and end of life doula, I have sat with many families who thought they were prepared. Insurance and paperwork can help with costs. They cannot tell a doctor what you would want, name the person who should speak for you, or tell your family where your wishes are written down.
Honoring Your Way is how I help families get those answers in place and stay present through the final days, so the people you love are not left guessing.
Most families have not put their wishes in writing
- 37%of U.S. adults have completed any type of advance directive. That leaves about two in three without one.
Yadav et al., Health Affairs, 2017. - 92%of Americans say talking about their end of life wishes is important, yet only 32% have actually had that conversation.
The Conversation Project National Survey, 2018. - 70%of older adults who needed decisions made about their care near the end of life could not make those decisions themselves. Someone else had to decide for them.
Silveira, Kim & Langa, New England Journal of Medicine, 2010.

Before you book
Do I need a lawyer to complete an advance directive?
Many states provide free advance directive forms that you can complete without an attorney, though signing rules differ by state. I walk you through your state's form. If your situation needs legal advice, I will tell you so you can involve an attorney.
Does a doula replace hospice?
No. Hospice provides medical, nursing, and other care. A doula offers nonmedical support and works alongside the hospice team, often giving families more time and attention during the final days.
Can I do this for my parent if I live far away?
Yes. All sessions are virtual, so you, your parent, and other family members can join from different places.
Why do you list your prices?
Families planning for the end of life deserve to know the cost before they call. One hourly rate for every service keeps it simple and fair.
What happens on the introductory conversation?
We talk for about 30 minutes about your situation and goals, and I help you choose the package or number of hours that fits. The conversation is free, and there is no obligation to continue.
What if it is an emergency?
Call 911 for emergencies. If your loved one is on hospice, call the hospice's 24-hour line for any medical concern. Doula support is not emergency or medical care.
Your wishes deserve to be known
Start with a free 30-minute introductory conversation. We will talk about where you are and what your family needs next.
Honoring Your Way (formerly Beyond the Benefits) provides nonmedical end-of-life doula and planning services. Nothing on this page is medical or legal advice, and these services do not replace your health care team, hospice provider, or an attorney. In an emergency, call 911.
